Women Advancement Organization (WAO)
Women Advancement Organization (WAO) is a national non-profit Organization (NNGO), founded in 2012 in Juba, South Sudan, registered by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) registration No.439. Purposely established to;
- Empower, support vulnerable women and out of school youth through training in life skills, Alternative Education Systems and Technical, Vocational Education and
- Advocate for the Fundamental rights of marginalized groups to access basic education, healthcare and
- Promote inclusion in all sectors to ensure women, youth and people living with disability have equal access to opportunities and all barriers are removed to ensure their full
- Influence laws and policies in South Sudan to be fair to all citizens irrespective of their language, gender, religion or cultural makeup.
Human resources capacity
WAO has wealth of experience and expertise with a sum of 43 staff with valid and invalid contracts. Program Staff are skilledin project design, management, monitoring, and evaluation and reporting. Each thematic area of our operation has qualified Specialists to oversee projects in that particular sector. The Finance department has certified accountants and finance professionals who budget, manage and report to donors according to their requirements within agreed framework and timeline.
Logistics department is well staffed to ensure a short turnaround time to ensure the process of procurement is done efficiently and all supplies get to the field locations within the agreed time. Logistics framework ensures movement of supplies to field locations is seamless and Field Staff get assistance they need in case of any emergency including transfer and or evacuations.
WAO Information Technology department is well acquainted with advanced tools to ensure our daily operations runs with efficiency and all relevant media platforms that complement our advocacy in the social media and on our website improves WAO and partner’s visibility far and wide.
